Comorbidity is the rule, rather than the exception, for most psychological disorders. This observation implies that there are etiological factors involved in psychopathology that cross diagnostic boundaries. The topic of this EPP symposium is such transdiagnostic factors involved in psychopathology. Several internationally renowned speakers will present their latest research on transdiagnostic factors such as sleep, cognitive biases, interoception, and avoidance. Furthermore, we will provide a short introduction and workshop on mindfulness, a technique that has been proven useful for several problems such as depression and chronic pain. We hope that this symposium can help to further guide EPP research to factors go beyond the typical diagnostic classifications.
